Mrs. Crisp's Educational Journey to McNair
I began teaching 11 years ago in Somerset ISD, where I taught 4th grade for (3) years, 4th & 5th grade reading for (1) year, and was the Reading First Coach. While I was in Somerset I was the Dance Team sponsor for a year, lead teacher for (4) years, a Cooperating Teacher for a student teacher, mentor, and was honored to be the 2004-2005 Kens 5 ExCel Award winner.
In 2007 I moved to Southwest ISD to work at Elm Creek Elementary, where I taught 4th grade for (1) year and 3rd grade for (4) years. During my five years at Elm Creek I was a lead teacher for (4) years, HIP program manager, Yearbook chair, Grade Level Technologist, a member of the Campus Improvement Team, Cooperating Teacher for (2) student teachers, mentor, TAKS Committee Chair, Ipad Cohort, AIMS Program, and Teacher of the Year in 2010.
In 2012 I graduated with my Masters in Education from Lamar University. I decided it was time to gain secondary experience, therefore I transferred to McNair Middle School to teach 6th grade Social Studies.
I am so excited to be the new Academic Coordinator at McNair Middle School.
I feel what drives me to be an effective leader is my philosophy of education.
All students can learn and should be given the opportunity to do so.”
Although it may be simple it has served me well as a teacher, and I plan to expand on it as an administrator. I believe it is a good foundation to build upon and I have a whatever it takes attitude when comes to meeting the needs of my campus.
